out of my box...style switch

while scraplifting these two layouts from the Me Book, Autumn Leaves, it didn't feel quite like me. i guess i am creating a style of sorts.

these layouts are for the book club at the store. hope they are well received, until then, i will keep honing in on my style and experimenting with others.

ohhh, most of my friends and family are starting to come down with the flu...my stomach is beginning to feel sour so i am using the ultimate positive thinking to will myself into not getting sick. pretty cool, huh!

loving the embossing thing...gives me all kinds of ideas and i am still riding on the inspiration high i got at Get Croppin' this weekend.

i like the 12 x 12...my second in oh so long...i am on an roll.

but i have to say, i am still partial to the mini book...it is like a little story- a beginning and an end. that is gratifying to me.

out of the rut?

i did a 12 x 12...it just came together...very fast...20 minutes...great fun and was going for a very Ali inspired page.

getting back to my scrapping.

I came home from Get Croppin' on Sunday just gushing over all the inspirational fun I had and Dave, being truly my biggest fan, had his listening ears on as this picture proves. I went on and on over my excitement about embossing and creating magnificent works of arts with UTEE and a heat gun.
In this conversation I carefully added that I would have to wait since my scrapbooking spend thriftiness is at an all time out of control high.

Well, what do I get for Valentine's? Not diamonds, chocolate, or flowers...I got something way better.

Fun, Fun, and more fun...love how my brain works in this small space...love the constraints of only using scraps and things i own...makes me THINK.

i did cheat a little, though. i bought a 7 Gypsies date stamp...hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.

the ephemera week: well, i picked my Katie girl's doodles. she doodles everywhere and i love it.

love week: ten things that i love.

and my box: i couldn't do the bag because my cards are already so bulky...i don't even think all 52 will fit in the box. we'll see.

I'm Dreaming Big...

my first two stabs at being on the design team. i was assigned Basic Grey(yummy!) and had to do a layout about why I scrapbook and a layout that highlighted a technique. my highlighted technique is layering patterned paper.

i like the results...but hey, how can you go wrong with Basic Grey?

met Ali Edwards this weekend and she was exactly how i imagined her...completely cool, completely inspiring.

talk about a person who has a comfortable sense of self...she just emanates that she loves being in her skin and that it really is OKAY.

on top of that, she knows her style, her art, what she is comfortable with and she EMBRACES it.

these are all the reason why i ADMIRE her so much.

great, wonderful weekend. the two classes were fantastic. i learned to mask and emboss. GO ME.
