Happy Halloween!

Last night we went to a Halloween Party--- It was a blast! Our good pal, Cole, came along with us...doesn't he look like a tough G.I. Joe?
I must say, my Harry Potter, with the black hair!, was amazing. He was one of the hits of the party. He was as proud as proud can be of his costume. I delighted in seeing him running around as Harry Potter. Be still my beating heart.
And the other hit of the party was my Katie. She was a beautiful Owl, complete with the name, Wiggy. What a great night.

Happy Sunday!

Oh My Crafts.

bought a canvas at a yard sale a few weeks backs and made this... still has some tweaking to do---working in the paint spot below "I" etc. but let's just say this.

I need to work more. Having no children home to tend to and few sub jobs is leaving me whirling and swirling. I am painting canvases here, people!

Sent two applications out today for subbing in two more districts.

Cross your fingers.

Meanwhile I am off to make owl feet with kitchen gloves. Stay tuned.

Alterations

Katie wants to be an owl for Halloween. Owl costumes are hard to come by in a non toddler size so I felt pretty stuck. But after a few minutes in the thrift store, I found this hat--- $1.50.
And I think we are on our way to an owl costume. Bought two $2.00 sweaters that will be some how be transformed into an owl costume....stay tuned.
In our hunt, Col came across a shawl which I believe is hand knitted that had a knitted rosette on the front....that promptly got caught off when I was contemplating it as part of the owl. Then, into a headband. Hot glue gun and a non slip head band---pretty cute!
And now, for $2.50 and Katie has a pretty fall look. Gotta love a hot glue gun, some imagination and a thrift store.

Where?

So, October is here now....Man, how did that happen? I have been a TERRIBLE blogger but such is life. I have not even made a folder yet for my September pictures...they just sit on my camera cards--one of which is missing. As far as record keeping goes, I am stinking on ice right now. So today, I have been looking at the photos on my camera card that I do have a hold of and thinking about what I have been doing lately. Here's a pic of Katie looking for the bus. Lately I have been coming up with captions in my head for pictures--What would this one read?

Beautiful shortbread cookies. The recipe ala Pioneer Woman and in short, these cookies are to die for...
Dave actually said they taste like Eat N Park Smiley Face Cookies. Now, if you know Dave, you realize this is like winning an Oscar.
Here's Rob in some fall pjs. Since birth these types of pjs have been my favorites- so glad he still wears them. They wash like iron and they seem so comfy.
Oh, my vase of shells we found at LBI. I can't go past this without smiling. What fun we had collecting these. And, the big konk- Rob found that in Chincoteague this summer. AMAZING, huh?
ohhh, yard saleing--- look at these awesome owl nesting dolls I found. And yes, I found the clock too at a yard sale. YUMMO.

Happy Wednesday.

Tomorrow I am subbing for the first time in a middle school. Should be interesting.

Happy Wednesday.
