Christmas- a Lovely Christmas

We had a fantastic Christmas- everyone was merry and bright- really!

Lots of fun, lots of love - lots of laughing- just what Christmas should be.

Some highlights-

Dave and Katie under the very soft and snuggy blanket that Dave made for me- Go Dave!

Robby enjoying his new 3-D glasses

The cousins in matching pj's.

Katie delighting in one of her new stuffed animals.

The kids singing in church.

The sock monkies being finished- YEAH- Dave, I swear this is true, did all the embellishments for me on Robby's and the nostrils on Katie- wouldn't have finished without him. he is quite crafty- a surprise a minute that one.
and many, many more, but for now, I am going to cozy up under my new blanket and watch the family play with the new Wii.

Merry Christmas

Busy, Busy, Busy- but doing good

just look at that ice on the hershey sign---it was the most beautiful sight to see- this ice storm at the beginning of the week. unfortunately it meant we did not get to go to Candy Lane or Sweet Lights because there was no power. the bushes, grass, and trees looked like they had been decorated by the snow fairies though...
we have had so much fun ramping up for Christmas- must admit, i feel much better now that school is over and a lot of the little gifts and "duties" are out of the way.
tomorrow brings finishing sock monkies and one homemade gift. somewhere in here i have a lot of wrapping to do and the kids and i have to bake cookies for santa and make our gingerbread house. it all sounds fun, doesn't it? Merry Christmas, everyone.
p.s. i included a pick of my michael in here, i am trying to learn how to use my "billy." couldn't get my Nolan this week because he slept the whole time he was here, but guess what? he has four teeth.

The Magic of the Season

The best part of the holidays is spending time with family and that is what we have been doing over here the past few days. Yesterday was spent making cupcakes and hanging around with three of my favorite chickabiddies and Tuesday was spent with another favorite chickabiddy who is getting so big-that baby Michael- at five months old he is smiling and laughing and such a huge joy to be around.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Yummy Day 4...for Krissy!

find info here

Well, technology is really one of my favorite gifts because so many things can be done with printers, cameras, and other fun tools.

This printer is being lauded by the scrapbooking pros. My sister is in the market so I thought...what better thing than to list for someone who is directly in need.

So, here you go Kris- people who have Epsons love them and this is a great price...Happy Printer Shopping.

Yummy Day --is it 4 or 5?

Yes, the days are just flowing together here- lots of activity and lots of fun at the Porco house- our hearts are happy. I am starting to feel a little bit worn but I keep reminding myself that these are undoubtedly the best days of my life and to KEEP smiling and rememeber the reason for the season.

So this post is all about Katie- this is something she wants. She saw it yesterday in Target and then this morning I got an email about it and I thought- why not? Let's post something that is yummy to a little kid. This so reminds me of Teddy Ruxpin- oh, how I wanted him...I mean he was a toy that talked...

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

In No Particular Order...

Well, six weeks behind on my card challenge and I finally had to say, "enough is enough!"

And I have three of the six to share today- the other three will get done- not sure when, but they will get done---no worries there- i try not to ever say, "I'm behind..." It takes the fun out of this little hobby, ya know?

so self realization- gosh- this has been a theme of mine for the last three years- trying to be the best me, trying to figure me out. i kept this one simple because sometimes it is just too much to dig too deep- and you know what, that is OKAY.

the pic is of katie in sheer delight from a water display at the Science Museum in Pittsburgh. I know this feeling because it is my favorite to have...

My Happy Place- simple pimple here...my kids.. my lights...the best things that have ever happened to me. Dave and I wouldn't have half the fullness in our lives if it wasn't for them.
Next, IDEAS...this one was inspired by our gingerbread fred weekend- Katie brought him home from school and we had to journal about the experience and take some pics- she had so many creative ideas- it is exciting to me.

Yummy Day 3

Quite simply- Hony Crisp apples are the best apple I have ever tasted. They are expensive- 2.29 a pound but so worth it-

trust me when i tell you it is better than a decadent dessert.

So for today- send someone some apples- Honey Crisp apples- the website is http://www.honeycrisp.com/.

you won't be disappointed.

Happy Wednesday Everyone.

yummy day2

so here it is...yummy Day 2...something that i really treasure is my my pandora bracelet that Dave gave to me for our anniversary. i wear the bracelet every day and it makes me feel happy. i can hear it sliding around my wrist and it calms me down- prompts me to remember how blessed i am. i have always given big meaning to inanimate objects-gosh, i still feel pangs of horror when i think about the day my Dad sold his beloved blue truck- i was weepy for weeks!

the beads on my bracelet all have special meaning- Jess gave me one for my birthday and each time I look at it, I think of her.

I have not found a bead yet that reminds me of my Dad- when I do, I will add it to my collection.

so for yummy day 2, i am posting some pictures of some beads that strike my fancy.

My Yummy List begins...

so, I decided today is the day to start my Yummy list- most of my family thought I was crazy last year and kept saying-"what's a Yummy list." so, because I love to keep you guys guessing, here is my second annual yummy list. And of course, it is really like a Twelve Days of Christmas list but I can't wait until the 13th.

I am so in the holiday spirit-In fact today I have on sage cords and a brown top and I feel like such a bah humbug- if I had the means, I would promptly run out and buy a gaggle of Christmas sweaters.

So back to day One-

This one is dedicated to my Aunt Carol and Uncle Gerry- They had this bank way back when and I hope they still have it...

I thought this bank was the best thing ever-I would look forward to getting to their house to see this bank- it is one of the many fond memories I have of their house- My Uncle would give us coins and we would just play with this magical bank.

I have to thank Stacy Julian for reminding me of this as she has this on her Twelve Days of Christmas list too...but it was just too good not to copy.

Have a wonderful day everyone and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Here is where you can find the bank...

December 1- Tree Lighting and the Firehouse

We had a magical time last night---we went to the tree lighting at the firehouse and it was a very cold, wonderful night. We went on a wagon ride around the "Village" and were pulled by Belgian draft horses. See my pic of the Christmas decos we saw? Those horses sure were going fast! We sipped hot cocoa and met with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Just perfect.

A magical way to start the Christmas season.
