Look, Mom! My very first sports injury!

ooohhhh, pretty....she's got legs, she knows how to Use THEM!
That is my elbow! NOt my knee... not broken only very bad soft tissue damage the x ray says...
At the request of my Dave, I am posting these pics...he seems to be proud of my new status in the world of someone who gets SPORTS injuries. If you know me at all you know I am not athletic...I have never been injured in the line of sports and recreation before. However, yesterday morning at the end of my morning bike ride at a local park, my tire hit some gravel and I hit the ground hard. My left side took it the worst---pictures above and my pointer finger on my right hand is purple.

So, now these are out here for the world to see and I am going to go off and lay down with a bag of frozen peas.

Happy Tuesday!

a pink piece of crap...

just a clue...you are not at bakerella or smitten kitchen or any posh baking site.

no, you are looking at a cake i made for a picnic on saturday night ---- after i iced it, the thing collapsed and needless to say neither me or the cake made it to the party.

Can you even imagine the laughter if I had showed up with the cake?

A makeover...

Dave and I are ready to do a little makeover action in the house.

He's ready to make some big changes...but alas...I am not working yet- soon, I will be and then watch out kitchen and deck and fence around the pool and bathrooms and...hey- he says he is ready to DUMp money in the place...

so for now we are updating the kids rooms a titch. Katie and robby are now occupying their own rooms. for years they have slept in the same bed and rob's room was largely a place to store his clothes. but now he is sleeping in HIS room and he has new sheets and a comforter...

so of course, kate is getting NEW too. her comforter was a hand ME down from Aunt Ash and it is time to get her room up to speed with the SASSY, Spunky chick she is---and guess what? she picked a LIttle Mismatched Set---i have a special place in my heart for Little Mismatched.

the fun part of this makeover is once the bed spread comes in from JCPenney, I am going to try my hand at making curtains to match! YEAH! a sewing project.

we will also paint her head board, and hang some cork boards on the wall for her to put all her art work on--- SO EXCITING.

i ordered the bed spread on Friday so maybe it will come on Tuesday and we will be READY to ROCK!
in my dreams, i woud love to hang this kind of art work all over katie's room too...oh my, it makes me so happy. print from RVA

THANK YOU, Cathy!

last night, I came in from the garden and facebooked about my TRAGEDY. Deer at my garden. my most gorgeous tomato plants yet -- this is year four for my garden. yes, i am dramatic.
and then after i had tried to drown my sorrows in some rice krispie treats, my husband said, "you have a package..."

I opened it to find a lovely Kelly Rae Roberts print from Cathy. A prezzie from a lady that I could listen to for hours. I swear she should do books on tape.
A prezzie that was a total surprise, out of the blue- wonderful thing. And I love presents. I mean really love them. when it comes to presents, I am like a six year old child on her birthday.
these last two weeks have been pretty hard. i am swirling a bit. And there is always a Divine plan. and this present made me feel really good.
Thank you so much, Cathy. Sending you a virtual hug and a smile.
Happy Friday.

I am reading:

Mitch and Amy by Beverly Cleary- Kate is reading it and i don't know the story to ask her comp. questions.

I am hoping:

that I get back on track with my healthy eating soon. I am stuffing too much junk in my mouth as of late.

I am hearing:

my fingers clacking on the keyboard and my Mom rocking back and forth in her glider.

Around the house:

lots of projects and such that Dave and I would love to get done...reorganization, sprucing up, yard stuff, it never ends.

One of my favorite things:

aND ALL is right with the WORLD

becauseI went "yard saleing" today and spent $ 13.00 on all of this....

since my wedding shower, i have wanted Fiesta ware in a Rainbow of colors...with open cabinets in the kitchen and just lovely, lovely colors showing. I have oooohed and aaaheed over this stuff on ebay and at MaCYS and at friends' homes that have it(HELLO WANYOS) and this morning...I hit a jack pot. and in colors I love....

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAppy SAturday.

I used to yard sale with my Mom and Dad all the time and I like to think my Dad arranged this little transaction for me- I literally had to bite my tongue when the man who sold them to me said three bucks for the pitcher and a dollar each to the platters and four bucks for the salt and pepper shakers.

love a deal... and love yard sales. hope you do something you love today.

A mid LIfe Crisis?

"Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain."
My friend, Dodi, mailed me this quote this morning. I think it is very WONDERFUL.

And it reminds me of so many great memories and how fantastic life can be despite CRAP that happens.

Speaking of great memories, last night, Dave graduated from Fire School. There was a ceremony to honor all the graduates.

I entitled this post MId LIfe Crisis as mostly a joke. I am very happy for Dave and glad that he has found something he loves...but this new position of his was a bit of a surprise and I like to josh around a bit with him.

Here are some shots of the fun last night. here is dave with some of his cronies...
kate loves everything about the fire house and i so very proud of her Daddy.

some of the handsome firefighters...

Lately, I have been feeling like the picture above.

and I am sure that i should purchase and wear this shirt.

but, i digress...the real reason i am here today is that my pittsburgh mom has so informed me that she is tired of looking at the man pop on my blog and wants me to POST. she never, ever complains or asks me for anything so - here I am - POSTING.
Katie donated her hair to locks of love....she looks so super cute and sassy... we love the cut. here we are at her brownie ceremony. look what a love she is.
and here is the newest member of our family. and yes, he has been with us for two weeks now and this is the first time he is making it to the blog- this is sheer eveidence of how busy i am - i mean this little kitten is blog magic. look how cute he is.

we all love him- he has really become rob's little pet. he is a little boy kitten and robby named him Scout. they hang together all day. SO ADORABLE.

oh, and Dave and I moved to either Seattle or LOndon becuase all it does around here is rain.

so that is a brief little update for you, my dear lovies that read my blabber.
have a wonderful Tuesday.

No WAy

My friend, Stella, mailed this to a group of us...I had to share here- could it be true?

Del Monte has designed an ice pop in the shape of actor Daniel Craig in celebration of the first annual National Ice Cream Week, which runs from June 1 until June 7.
The treat was created after more than 1,000 British women cast votes deeming the James Bond star the
celebrity that they would “most like to lick.”
“Daniel Craig topped our poll of Britain’s coolest celebrities and thanks to our Del Monte lolly replica he is officially immortalised as super smooth and licensed to chill,” Del Monte spokesperson Matt O’Connor said Monday.
The limited edition pops — which contain less than 1,000 calories each — are available in blueberry, pomegranate, and cranberry.
