We look forward to this every year. I especially love being a part of this fundraiser because it feels so personal to me. First because of my Dad and then because of me and my high blood pressure. It is so very important for me to MOVE MORE... EAT BETTER... LIVE BETTER. I think that is the slogan. This year the event was held at Citizens Bank Park. It was exciting to see this venue but felt less intimate than when it is held at Fairmont Park. We had a great time nevertheless. All morning, I watched the people in the red survivor hats and wished that my Dad was wearing one of those. In truth, I have not accepted the fact that he is in Heaven. Hopefully, one day my healing process will take me there.
So, the real reason of this post is to give a big thank you to all of you that supported our family in this endeavor. The American Heart Association has collected 750,000 dollars so far from the walk and our little group raised close to $3000. That is something to cheer about...look at Katie cheering on top of the dugout...no if that doesn't give you a smile today, nothing will.
Ohh, and have a laugh today, a good, old belly laugh. This is something I did a lot with my Dad, just laughed at anything really--he loved to make fun of me all in the spirit of love. Last night Dave and I watched this endearing commercial that showcased a baby laughing and the voice over saying that laughing increases your life by 8 years. So, belly laugh today. There is nothing better. Do it for Dad and me.
Happy Tuesday.
